He
may spend his time capturing the wildlife on his
camera, but when it comes to Diwali, Mike makes sure
that his house has a festival feel to it – warm and
homely. This year, Mike’s whole family intends to
spend Diwali together with a puja followed by
dinner.
Says he, “I have been cooking since I was a student,
it’s one activity that always gives me pleasure. I
am not too good in making sweets but I definitely
make one good vegetarian meal for the family on
Diwali. Among sweets, I prefer the ones that are
made from as many natural products as possible like
milk and coconut. But I don’t like them to be too
sweet. I am not too fond of the syrupy variety, I
prefer dry ones. I am also not too impressed with
sweets made from sugar substitutes that are
available in the market because they are never able
to satisfy you. I may eat one piece but it has to be
wholesome.” |
