Film makers are responsible for changes believes

Winning
a western India cinematographers Associations (WICA’s)
award after 52 years is not a child’s play and
that too from a living legend like Dev Anand
makes it really humbling and nostalgic
recollects Mike Pandey, legendary film maker and
environmentalist. Mike Pandey is a three time
green Oscars winner and he has been hailed as
one of the most dynamic film makers of the
century. This dynamic film maker feels, “Films
are to be authentic, I am not against
entertainment but then. India needs value based
information. For this, 10 percent of feature
films as a social responsibility should be for a
cause whether it be for water, land management
or dowry and that is not too much. Films and
Filmstars have following and that is why they
should make the best of this opportunity and use
best of this opportunity and use it for the
benefit of the country.”
He
has made films on whale shark, elephants and a
lot of other animals. His movie ‘Shores of
Silence’ has earned world acclaim. |

he is stopped by his mother because she knows
that, it is not good for him. |

Similarly, filmmakers as being
responsible citizens of
India
should reflect the passage of time
and should give solutions and not
trigger people’s fantasies and then
give all the blames to the
government and legislation when
cases like rapes and female
molestation takes place. |

A
UK journalist has said that no film in the last 65
years had made a difference in such a short time as
‘Shores of Silence’. “For the first time in history,
a film has brought a legislation. Under the wildlife
act-1972, killing of whale shark was banned bringing
it at par with tiger, rhino and elephant, “ said
Mike Pandey. He said, “What is required is that one
should touch the minds and hearts of the audience
and make them realize the importance and utility
